I have been a user since 2017. The first time I used it was in Mexico to learn Spanish. I made some friends there.

One of the vain things about HT is that it has become just an international tinder. No real conversation is happening. No one is there to learn. I know for sure as 99% of the posts are about how bored they are and receive attention from different cultures. It does not carry the real pictures in which we live.

So, I deleted my accounts and rejoined multiple times in 2017,
thinking it would be different each time.

Eventually I was banned from rejoining HT. The HT management and the owner are Chinese. I simply do not mean to carry a racist connotation toward them, but such interactions between the management and me just force me to think that I have been closely monitored.

On some numerous accounts,

  • The management told me to wait for a month if I really wanted to rejoin the app (I went around their banning my iphone device and joined again using an I-Pad just to piss them off)
  • Recently I have been warned NOT to post the American flag as my main profile picture
  • And now finally banned again for numerous complaints of HT users and excessive usage of sensitive words and topics

Indeed a lot of the users on HT is full of shit. Superficiality which I keep mentioning took place.

I share the real culture. The dead rotten serpentine that lives inside Korea which I escaped from.

On the other hand, 99% of the posts are about the coffee they drank, food they ate, and none of the bs that HT management describes, “The intentions of your posts do not align with our policy to promote educational environment to exchange CULTURE and LANGUAGE.”

How can we talk about culture and language without talking about ethics, politics and economies? They are the very bed of our daily lives.
Indeed, the reason why the food in Korea is getting spicier and spicier is an indicator of how stressed people are living in the reality. To relieve stress, they need stronger de-nerving element to take place.

Are any of the selfie posts showing the bodies cultural and linguistic?
Are any of the sophisticate calls ‘anyone for a call? I will teach you English’ cultural and linguistic?
Any of the ‘I am bored, anyone wants to talk???’

I have educated the blinds. The blinds to whom the Korean dramas had washed their very grey matter in their brains.

Indeed instead of banning me, HT should promote me as its ambassador teaching people on what the different outcomes are after centuries of different ideological separation. The sparring and contrasting differences between the collectivist and the individual society.

Especially my translation of the world view. And why I choose the West. Hence, maybe they were afraid to hear the truth as the perish and destruction are often sweet.
And eventually, sugar kills people.

On top of anything, HT recently introduced their premium feature to pay more for nearby meet-ups. (Another way to place their hands in your pocket.)

My writings are handsomely formidable. You are not the first one to comment on my writings. Indeed, my very opinionated views and interpretations toward the world have attracted/instigated/pissed off a lot of users. One. One of them blocked me personally because she could not handle reading my writings any more (if you are reading this, please unblock me. I think about you from time to time [Winks.] No hard feelings.)

No matter how much negative it was her reaction was toward me,
it means to me that she took my writings very personal.
As if a girl becomes very disappointed at her daddy.

If you seriously consider learning a language, pick up a book and start reading.

The real learning starts when you get off the app, full of vanities, put the phone away and start learning actually.
